For a B2B organization, these rights will apply to your employees, client representatives, vendor staff, contractors &#8211; essentially, anyone whose data you hold. Therefore, you have to create workflows that seamlessly let users exercise all these rights:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Right To Give Or Refuse Consent:<\/span><\/strong> Individuals must be able to freely give or deny consent at the outset before any personal data is processed.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Right To Know How Data Is Used:<\/span><\/strong> They have the right to be informed by your organization about what data is collected, why it\u2019s processed and with whom it\u2019s shared.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Right To Access Personal Data:<\/span> <\/strong>They can request a copy of all personal data your organization holds about them.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Right To Correct Or Update:<\/span><\/strong> They can ask for inaccurate, outdated or incomplete personal data to be corrected without any friction.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Right To Erase:<\/span><\/strong> They can request deletion of their personal data, unless it has to be retained for lawful purposes. (More on that later.)<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Right To Nominate:<\/span><\/strong> They can appoint someone to manage their personal data in case of incapacity or death.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><div><div><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On top of these data rights, organizations must also incorporate a variety of security measures to safeguard all the personal data they deal with:<\/span><\/div><div><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Securing of personal data through encryption, obfuscation, masking or use of virtual tokens mapped to that personal data<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Appropriate access control measures for all the resources and devices in your organization<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Visibility on users accessing this personal data, through monitoring of logs that must be retained for a minimum of 1 year<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Business continuity measures for continued processing in the case of breaches or incidents, through secure back-ups<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Enabling safeguarding against unauthorised access through strong detection, investigation and remediation processes<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Any other appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure effective observance of these safeguards (employee awareness, etc.)<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><div><div><div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"margin-left: 0pt;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All these measures help in reducing the likelihood of a breach or incident.
