Vulnerabilities continue to lurk in physical and virtual assets, and CISOs lack complete knowledge of their existence. They also don’t have a means of assessing emerging threats or the relative business risk associated with a given vulnerability. Even if CISOs could provide IT Ops with a list of every vulnerability that needs to be patched, IT Ops wouldn’t be able to comply because the volume of vulnerabilities is simply too overwhelming.
